David " Duck " Barraclough. Inducted into the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame as guitarist for iconic band The Exponents. Long time member of Australian art funny guys Mental As Anything, also Australian Music Hall of Fame inductees. David " Duck" Barraclough is arguably the only musician to be in two bands, both in the halls of fame.

Duck
Hi I'm Duck. I've been known as Duck for as long as I can remember. Actually my given name is David Barraclough. A couple of years ago I tried to get everybody I know to call me David. To their credit everybody tried their best but I had to stop that to save people embarrassment. I hadn't realized how many people had speech impediments. No longer "Hey Duck", it became "hey duu..daavid", sometimes with dribble involved. So I'm back to being kind to people and only having a one syllable title. Not many people know that my full nickname is Duckshit. So this is "Duckshit" a collection if stuff wot I do. Some of it are the best word things wot I ever rit. I dare you to enjoy.

This is the sensible way into the mind of Duck. His worldview contrasts cynicism with romance; pessimism with optimism; tinkling piano with heavy guitar; Milton, Wordsworth, Coleridge et al with Charles Bukowski and he has a total disappointment with and an unblinking love of sport. I'm not altogether sure he is of this time but his personal philosophy makes for a singular and entertaining view of the mess we find ourselves in today”.
